Veg Snacks Recipe
Idli as known by everyone is a healthy meal made from rice and lentil batter. It is a popular food consumed not only in India but outside the country too as it is a healthy and tasty soft, steamed cake. And, frying the same idli with some vegetables gives it a more delicious taste which is ideal for a healthy veg snack. It does not contain any saturated fat, cholesterol, and extra carbohydrates. This is the reason consuming it prevents the person from getting heart diseases such as stroke.
For this you will be needing some pre-made idli, finely chopped onion and tomatoes, chopped green chili, half teaspoon ginger garlic paste, a pinch of turmeric powder, one-fourth teaspoon red chili powder, one-fourth teaspoon cumin seeds, 2 tablespoon oil, 1 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves, half tablespoon paw bhaji masala and a pinch of turmeric powder.
Now chop the idli into small pieces of normal bite size. Add the oil into the pan and heat it for a few minutes. After the oil is heated add the cumin seeds into it and let them crackle. Now add the ginger-garlic paste into it until the raw aroma of the paste goes away and is absorbed by the oil completely. After this add the onions and tomatoes in the respective order and fry them until they are done. You may add more vegetables of your choice such as capsicum, carrot, etc. After mixing the vegetables well, add the chopped green chilies and all the spices including turmeric, red chili, salt, and paw bhaji masala into it. Add little water into the pan after mixing to make gravy. Simmer until the gravy becomes thick. Now add the pieces of idli into the gravy and mix it till the gravy gets absorbed into the idli. Serve the idli hot and garnish them with coriander leaves. Also, squeeze a lemon on the idli. Believe it these idlis are a perfect evening snack.
